Prayer

The verse of the week for our Online Bible Study this week, Romans 8:26, is another reassuring one!  I love that the Spirit helps us through wordless groans, when we cannot find the words ourselves.

I also realized as I was reflecting on this verse and praying throughout the week that this applies to those who we are praying FOR as well!  Often times I find that I want to pray for someone, but have no clue how to pray for them.  I feel silly admitting this, but sometimes all I can think to say is "Please help them Lord!"  I pray that over and over until I feel at peace about it.  Not knowing how to pray for some people always felt like a big weakness of mine.  I did not realize until this week that it is the Spirit, interceding through wordless groans, that helps me to pray for them!  I am so thankful for this verse, and that the Spirit truly does help us in every aspect of our lives - even in our prayers!

Thanks for taking the time to read, and God bless!!!  :)

  1. I too felt that way, Natalie, and my prayers were always so shallow and short. But now I just talk to God. I pretend He is my best friend, sitting across the table from me, sharing a cup of coffee and I just spill my heart out. I feel great afterwards and I've spared a human friend from listening to me moan and complain.

    1. I love that visual!!! I had not thought of it that way before, but that is a good idea! And talking to God about frustrations and feelings is better than bringing a human friend down all the time, good point! Thank you! :)

  2. Natalie, you are not alone!! There are also times I don't know what words to use, but how reassuring that the Spirit always knows what we need--whether it's for ourselves or someone else! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Natalie, I'm so glad you have found reassurance in this beautiful Scripture verse. I learned the truth of this verse many years ago. Now I find praying more joyful, knowing that the Spirit will pray through me according to God's will. Just keep praying anytime you see a need.

  5. I love that verse also because I never really thought about it or realized that the Holy Spirit interceded through wordless groans on our behalf and prays what we cannot find the word to pray. Thanks for sharing. Marilyn
